After years and years, it looks like two fashion designers have finally came to their senses and realized BLACK GIRLS CAN BE MUSES too. Alexander Wang and Miuccia Prada couldn't be more different design wise, but the one thing they do have in common is choosing black women to represent their fashion label. Zoe Kravitz has the perfect mixture of trashy-edgy glamour, thanks to her mom and dad. Shala Monroque hit the fashion scene in full force wearing Prada from head to toe and hasn't slowed down yet. Although Miuccia hasn't officially said Shala is her muse, she has named her Fashion Consulatant at Large. It's a new year, let's see if any other designers follow suit.

2. My clothes are usually rather simple, it's my accessories I like to play around with

3. My style has evolved in the last 4 years, some things I hated-I now love (menswear for women)

4. Even though I am a big girl, I can always find something to fit and flatter me, regardless of the store

5. I love, love, love to recycle my clothes, I just style each look differently

6. I am really into constrating looks, like a big fur coat worn w/ open toe shoes or a ball gown worn w/ a baseball cap

7. I usually wear what I want, regardless of the event or weather

8. I don't believe in fashion "rules", I do what makes me feel good

9. I consider my make-up and nail polish accessories, just like my shoes or jewels

10. I like to wear hats a lot, fedoras-baseball caps-church hats, I like 'em all

I assume you have noticed the new name and a few little changes on the blog. I was getting really bored with it's concept and I just felt it was time for a change. I am OFFICIALLY ready to be myself, I mean really "do me". I don't know if it's because I will be 30 on Friday the 28th (wooohoooo!), but I am sick and tired of editing myself because I am worried of what others may think. So! With that being said, let me explain the meaning of my blog name to you. I like the words "tacky" and "trashy", they have always sort of meant fun with an I don't give a f*ck attitude, which basically describes my personality. This really isn't a "new me" but more like "revealing me" to you all, a tacky trashy glamour girl! Now that I am on this subject, it made me think of my favorite tacky trashy girl, the one and only Kelly Bundy. Everything she wore was tight, revealing and short-what's wrong with that?!?! Again, that's so me. If you notice in the pics above, in every single one she has on an amazing belt. Only the tackiest, trashiest girl would have such an assortment of cool belts. My point is, Kelly taught me a lot (believe it or not), she helped me realize that it's ok to be yourself, regardless of what people say or the faces you may get. I'm on my level!

I bought this book a few weeks ago as a joke for a good friend of mine who is make-up challenged. I created 15 different make-up looks for her to choose from and tweak of-course. I didn't know I would have so much fun creating and coloring for her, I almost kept the book for myself-lol! I felt like a little girl again, I even drew the earrings, chokers and headband. Anyway, she loved it and actually used it last night to create the "Edgy" look (the pic with the "Bitch What" earring).
